Overview

Credit Connections is a specialized training program for commercial bankers. Its goal is to increase lending throughout Maryland by leveraging state and federal finance programs to enhance the credit of borrowers and mitigate the risk assumed by lenders.

The program was launched in partnership with The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, The Risk Management Association and the Maryland Bankers Association in September 2010. Credit Connections features workshops by the SBA, United States Department of Agriculture, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development.

The initial training reached over 55 Maryland banks and more than 200 lending officers. Lender reviews were extremely positive with requests for additional sessions, institution specific training, a continuing presence on the web and additional venues to get this message out to lenders.
