DESCRIPTION | A community workshop has been planned to discuss the Sustainable Transformation of the Appalachian Region (STAR) Project, which is funded through a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). The National Center for Smart Growth, University of Maryland Extension, and The Greater Cumberland Committee are the grantees. The primary objective of this project is to assure that the economic development interests of Western Maryland are incorpoated in PlanMaryland, the state's first state development plan. The workshop is sponsored by the University of Maryland Extension Office, Garrett County Department of Economic Development, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, and The Greater Cumberland Committee.
